Capital and Labour Contestation in India in the Neo-liberal Era

This paper applies a number of social theories to understand contestation between labor and capital in India in the neo-liberal era. Examining the role of the state in redefining what is social and anti-social in the context of activism on the part of labor, this paper analyses the relationship between state and society in facilitating the embedding of a neoliberal regime in India on the one hand, and the opposition posed by labor to such processes, on the other.
